first post -- how do you turn this on?!

Greetings from the inter-tubez. This is orange34 (a.k.a International Student). FYI, "orange34" is my handle in the online world. I don't know why it is so, other than the fact that I was consuming some oranges during my first internet experience. (and yeah, the oranges tasted good!)

So, I'm making this maths club and I've had some very good support from everyone in PE04 who eagerly want to get involved in a club which can improve their problem-solving skills. First off, let me thank all those who showed enthusiasm in making this possible. I found out forming a club is no easy business. There are numorous documents, articles, sections, and dozens of signatures which need to be submitted all in a boringly official fashion which sometimes makes me feel as if I'm writing the constitution for a small country. Right now, I'm in the process of finishing a lengthy club statement after which we should be all set to hear about the clubs approval.

So far there are 2 purposes for this club as outlines in Article 4 of the constitution:

"
Section 1
To encourage and develop problem-solving capabilities of members. Problem-solving is an extremely important part of the study of mathematics. Every student will benefit from the mental dexterity developed through struggling with problems that require creative thought. These skills obtained can also be useful in other areas of study.

Section 2
To serve as a place where students can meet systematically to prepare for important mathematical competitions. These exams are a great way for students to show their mathematical capabilities in a worldwide platform, and such a preparation club is useful so that contestants can perform to the best of their abilities.
"

If you feel there needs to be more purposes feel free to write them in the comments.

The Star!

Hong Yi is an arse who loves touching arses
I mean, people who had their fair share of Tan Sri Loy's Merit Scholarship 2008, you guys(and girl) should check out The Star newspaper published on 26/4/08. Our names were etched in somewhere between page 13-17 of the main section. If your parents are "the justice league" and can see writings of font size 0.5, I recommend that you people should show them too! That's all I guess. Enjoy your weekend!

Be alert!

Hey guys! This is the first time i post something in this blog. A pickpocket actually tried to steal from me today when I was at KL Central train station. This happened when I tried to enter the train when it arrives. Everyone was rushing to the entrance of the train and it was very packed. So when I was lining up outside the train waiting to go in I felt a hand was touching my left pocket. luckily I felt it and I just quickly use my hand and push it away. If I wasn't carrying anything I might actually catch his hand. Somehow he just got away. So I thinked and analysed about this incident. I think that pickpockets usually aim for those who are carrying things and with big pockets. So at here I would like to give some suggestions to those who are taking train. Never put your wallet or phone in your pockets while you are going into a train. Try put it into your bag and turn the bag around and carry it so no one can unzip your bag from behind. If you are carrying something, try to keep one hand empty so you can block or catch the " evil hand". So i hope that these few tips can help those friends who are taking train ( but please! don't get aroused by these tips--especially seng wai---lolzzzz!)....haha...

April 16, 2008. Happening Live in Ivan's POV.

Btw, POV stands for Point of View

April 16 of Year 2008
Mr Lai, our classmates (Euclidian candidates), and I planned to come down to Klang (my turf) to eat Bak Kut Teh. So, Ian and Ivan (me) became the driver.

At 12.00 pm, we gathered in front of Taylor's gate. There, we split up.
Mr Lai, Aaron, Michael, Andrew sat in my car.
Vishnu, Ka Yin, Joshua, Seng Wai sat in Ian's car. (this side of the story, ask them to tell you lar)

I drive a Proton Wira first, following by Ian's Myvi Car behind me. On the curve road from Subang Jaya to Federal highway, I kinda 'drifted' there, skidded downhill. Everyone was screaming in the car, and that includes Mr Lai that sat in front, beside me (driver). Everyone was shouting, "Brake! Brake!". Haha... A pure Initial D drifter I am... Haha...
Later then, Ian and I, after the Subang Jaya toll, raced to the Bak Kut Teh destination. It was funny. As he was behind me, he flashed behind me with high beams and then tried to cut me. Unfortunately, his Myvi stood no chance against my 5-6 years old Proton Wira. But still, driving at the speed of 100 km/h. Haha...
Then, we reached there and ate Bak Kut Teh as Vishnu ate chicken rice. Haha... Bill... Well, kinda reached RM130 total. haha...

Then we went back and celebrated Aaron's birthday... And all turned out to be a cake fight...
The Culprit: Vishnu, Ka Yin and Me...
The Victim: Vishnu, Ka Yin, Me and an unfortunate girl from another class... Haha...
Later, Euclid Exam was sure CRAP... Haha...

All ended at 6.15 pm.

Thank you my friends.. :)

I guess this will be the first and last time I'll be posting over here.. Let's hope seng wai wont delete this..

First of all, I wanna thank all of you for the times we spent together, all the teachers for putting in such an effort to teach the class of 0801PE4.. It's been a great three months plus with all of you and I appreciate the company of each and everyone of you, you guys have been amazing and I just wish we would be classmates forever.. But at times of life, you have to make big decisions and I hope I'm making the right one.. I'll most probably be switching to ADP, due to certain factors and to the best interest of me and my family.. Wish me luck as I'll need a huge dose of it! Haha.. I'll be modest about it..

I'm not going to be make a big fuss about me leaving, but I hope I can get everyone of you informed.. We are still friends right? I hope we are.. Friends forever! I don't want to leave with a regret, and that's the reason why I'm posting this.. I want to thank all of you here, be it friends or teachers.. 0801PE4 will always hold special memories in my heart, I promise.. From strangers, we have now become a big family.. It's sad that I'll have to leave all of you.. But before I go, I want to share some of the interesting parts of our journey together.. "Yee Sang" was one of the most significant event in the short three months, it brought us all together and broke down every single barrier between us.. We were a family by then, and we can click just like that.. I hope you guys can maintain this strong bond, not many can do that.. And I'm lucky to be just part of it..I will always cherish the times we spent together, classes, lunch breaks, everything.. Getting scolded by Mr Lucas for not finishing tutorials, Mr Hari's ever lively classes (with his jokes and death stare!) , Ms Tang's heartfelt advices (I wonder how many will agree with me..), Mr Peter's 'slow and steady' pace with a great deal of patience with us, Mr Teoh's 'no-one-listening-except-joshua' speeches, Mrs Brooke with her abundance of general knowledge and ever present sarcasm, and last but not least, Mr Lai with interesting events after events for us (I'm with a good intention, don't misunderstand me).. These are the memorable moments we had with our lecturers.. :)

We also had our fair share of rocket launching during Physics practical, it was something new to me actually.. Nice.. We'll have to thank Mr Hari, the lab assistant and the bottles contributors for that.. What a practical we had.. Watching the bottles flying up high in the skies, I knew that's where all of us are heading.. To the highest peak of our lives.. Our dreams out there, waiting for us.. Plus the CAL science competition.. Andrew, Bashir n Joshua represented our class and I just wanna say that you three did a really great job.. The placing doesn't matters much, what's more important is the invaluable experience you three get from the competition and sharing it with us..

Remember World Maths Day? It's a great deal of teamwork and determination from each of us, I enjoyed every second of the 48 hours.. The euphoria of watching us chasing the top spot and maintaining it was breathtaking, not less fun and exciting! I still cant really get over it yet. Considering the fact we are just get together for such a short period of time and participating in the competition for the first time.. Great, great effort.. Thanks to all of you and also Mr Lai for signing us up for this, if not we won't be part of this great episode.. And also the prize presentation ceremony.. Everyone of us was dressed like a mature and proud gentlemen and lady and it was really smart, we looked gorgeous! No matter what, I felt everyone enjoyed it as that was a certain amount of pride and satisfaction in it.. With the programme director and other A levels maths lecturer there watching, we have certainly made our name and stamped an eternal mark in taylors history.. Not forgetting the Pizza Hut celebrations, we had our miny but meaningful party there thanks to Mr Lai as he was the paymaster for the day.. And if I'm not wrong, we did something bad that particular afternoon right? I'm not really sure who was the culprit, but it's definitely not HAN KHEE, KA YIN, HONG YI, & ALEX right? Haha.. Hope you guys are open about it.. No bad intention, just purely fond memories..

In all, 0801PE4 is of a great mix.. Lucky the maths genius, Bashir the 'think-out-of-the-box' guy, Alex the class clown, Seng Wai the blog creater, Ivan the cheeky guy, Joshua the champion of champions, Han Khee the phone gamer, Hong Yi the smart goody boy, Ka Yin the 'sleep-in-class but still do exceptionally well in tests' (dunno how he's able to do it), Cheong the fantastic footballer, Daanis the macho athlete, Danial the muscular model, Vishnu the 'always-there-for-us' class rep, Vicky the matured soul leader, Hassan the train owner, Brian the happy-go-lucky boy, Huong Ket the dancing king, Guang Yuan the judo guy (is it? I dont quite remember the club u joined, my bad if it's incorrect), Jian Wai the cybergamer, Der Shen the sleeping king, Michael the blur blur guy, Nicholas the multi-talented guy, Andrew the most hardworking guy and our one and only pretty lady - Sze Hui .. ^^

I will definitely miss all of you guys, but this is life, we have to get on with it no matter what happens right? Hereby, I would like thank everyone of you again and also the lecturers for the beautifully decorated three months plus.. I wish all of you the best of the best for your future undertakings.. No matter what you do, do it with your heart.. With that, I believe you will be able to fulfil your greatest potential and achieve your highest of dreams.. Spread your wings and soar! Success awaits all of you!

My sincerest wishes to all of you.. I hope 0801PE4 will go on to achieve even greater heights and go down as one of the most decorated CAL class in taylors! Congrats for your past success and I wish all of you the best for the future.. Good luck for your A levels.. Thanks again and I hope we'll be able to keep in touch! Take care n bye bye!!!

With warmest regards,
Aaron Si Seng Yong

Blog Post Vacancies!

This is a class blog and hopefully we can work as a team. That is why we need the following posts to be filled :

1) 1 or 2 event photographers
- They may need to bring their cams everyday just to take down funny and memorable things which will be in this blog for future reference!

2) THE Dude/Dudette
- This person is in charge of writing down any interesting stuffs, e.g. Mr. Hari's funny quotes or Alex's "Cool" jokes so that the writers can use it when they blog it later(since it might not be a daily affair due to the increasing workload, so its good to have a temporary diary around)

3) writers
- The more the marrier. You would have to sacrifice some time to blog about whatever related to the class. Skills in uploading good photos followed by funny jokes are essential.
- Also, we can take other forms of writers, example having a jokes column(preferably class jokes XD), studies column(perhaps keep track of hws and reminders for assignments, study notes or tips, etc.), and even a QnA column where Joshua MUST take part as those who don't know something can ask him XD. Any other reasonable form of writers are accepted too.

4) public relations officer
- In case our class needs to do some activity which involves other parties, e.g. the teachers, this team will handle the relation stuffs.

We hope that everyone can volunteer to fill these post up, excluding post 4 as it is least important. Any other suggestion will be taken about seriously.

Class activity and clubs

Hey guys! I'm sure many of you need an extra club or two because everyone knows we need those to beautify our testimonials. Since timing and other annoying factors often get in the way, lets form a club together, a PE4 original club. Let it be something that is beneficial to our future, e.g. forms leadership skills, social skills or even just exercise(yeah I'll try to have fun XD). Since its formed by us, we can set the meeting anytime, anywhere. This pure flexibility will surely benefit us in the near future. However, if other members would have joined us, then maybe the flexibility will decrease but hey, let's just give it a shot!

Also, Mr. Lai always emphasizes on class unity and so far our efforts to unite the class is class uniform day. Let's have a class activity, like a vacation or something. We can get some of our lecturers to go with us too, maybe prank them or something. It'll be great fun. Shall we plan these out? These are just my ideas so if you don't like them, just ignore them and life moves on as it is :P.
